The Institution for Maintenance Time Acquisition for The Crude Oil Tanker Fleet
The purpose of this institution is to reduce the sudden occurrence of engine troubles and minimize
customers claims and downtime of Maintenance Time Acquisition should be as follows:
1. Targeted maintenance work
1) Maintenance work that could not be completed during bunkering
2) Maintenance work that can be anticipated, that will be necessary from the main
performance data at the time of one (1) year or more before the next scheduled dry-docking.
2. Deadline for this application
An application with attached papers should be submitted to MARTM via SI at the below times:
1) For the above 1.1)
At least two (2) months before the time by which maintenance is planned
2) For the above 1.2)
In the one (1) year or more before the next scheduled dry-docking, whenever a remarkable
change in the main performance data indicates the need for maintenance.
3. Application from
An application is being free from and including work date, work place, the content of work,
estimated working hour, the purpose of the work.
The documents, which can clarify the need for maintenance schedule, the engine-running-hours
report, and so on, should be attached.
Immediately after checking a customers intention about the propriety of working-hours
acquisition, you are notified.
4. Others
This maintenance cost should be treated as a Repair and Parts item in the running expenditure
for the fiscal year.
The downtime, which occurred by using The Institution for Maintenance Time Acquisition, is not
reflected in ship management company evaluation.
