Hello!

My name is Tim Loewen and I have been assigned to you as your

Education 2500 student teacher for Tuesday and Thursday mornings. I
am very excited to join your classroom, and very much appreciate the
opportunity to observe and participate in class activities!
I am looking forward to experiencing Education 2500s
practicum. I enjoy learning new things, and am very much looking
forward to learning more about schools, the profession of teaching, and
classrooms today. Im very curious about classroom management and
inclusive education, as I only know them from a student perspective.
Education is very important to me. I am a biochemistry major in
my third year. I have completed several courses in Chemistry, Biology,
Mathematics and Psychology. I am also very interested in Drama and I
completed several courses in this area in high school and at university
too. While I have not yet definitely decided that I will pursue Education
as a career, if I was to enter the faculty I would consider a General
Science major with a Drama minor. I hope some of the courses I have
completed will be useful in working with you and your students during
our time together.
Outside of my studies, my interests include friends, movies and
video games. I like action movies, so it is probably not surprising that I
like action oriented video games as well. I also enjoy sports,
particularly basketball and volleyball. I played junior varsity basketball,
and junior as well as senior varsity volleyball. I have also assisted
coaching basketball when the opportunities arise.
I was born and raised in Lethbridge, and am the youngest sibling
of three children. All of us currently live at home in Lethbridge with our
parents while we finish our
university education. Our family
includes one pet, a very old dog
named Howie. Some of our best
times together as family have
been holiday trips to Mexico
during Reading Week.
I hope this letter has helped
you get to know me a little bit, as
I am certainly looking forward to
getting to know you and your
class. Again, thank you for
agreeing to give me the
opportunity to see the classroom from a teachers perspective.
Sincerely,

Tim Loewen
