Why is this an important trait? Being able to accept those around you and work with them is important, especially with a diverse population. Being in band shows me that everyone is needed to be there to be successful. I knew it was better for me to participate in something I love and poured my heart into.
How do you demonstrate this trait in your daily life?
There are different types of people in band that share one main interest which is playing an instrument. Wind Ensemble shows me participating in school activities positively and respecting the others around me. We all need each other in order to become superior.
How does this work sample demonstrate being an honorable
citizen? Band does not only require playing an instrument but it requires passion and extra time. It is amazing to put my emotions into what I play and gain new emotions from when I play. With the beautiful, fun, but difficult pieces that we play it is amazing to hear what the band pours into the piece. Playing not only for myself but for the others around me has shown me what it feels like to be a part of a group. It is a group where everyone needs each other to be successful. I have learned to respect all of the other members in band as well as myself since we are all necessities to become superior.
