“Learning with peers are more enjoyable rather than alone.


It was so fun when I got a chance to be with my classmates during our
semi-final performance to the course Art Appreciation which is dance. The day we
perform it on stage, I felt the profound connection with my peers. Our dance
moves are like a language and a way to express our feelings to the audience.
Every step we gave on stage made us spark and make us realized that nothing is
impossible as long as we gave all our best and hard work’s. I proudly say that it
was one of my unforgettable experience because it not only gave us learning but
also strengthen our relationship with peers and also to a successful presentation.
With this course of art appreciation there are something I discovered onto myself
and that I can able to catch up on the things I need to learn, do it proficiently with
all my best just to prove it in myself that I can do it even if I am not so good like a
pro. Through the collaboration and uniting as one, our performance had done
better and for so far there were no understandings or argues happened on us. I
am so glad that all of my fellow dancers gave all their best to cooperate and had a
big contribution to the successful of performance. For me, it was a biggest
achievement that one thing I treasure the most in my life. I know this was only
happen once, so I’ll enjoy that every moment by having a quality time with my
fellow dancers.
The day before we present our dance, we practice so hard, shared efforts
and a commitment to excellence. We felt exhausted and tired during our rehearsal
but still we encourage ourselves to go on and believe that we can make it
whatever happened. One time, most of my classmates lose their interest to
participate due to no one will choreograph the dance, but it was not a reason for
us to stop but a motivation to keep going on through capturing ideas on how we
solve this problem. Some of us felt discouraged on ourselves because we got so
hard to catch up on the dance steps. Our body were not used before on dancing
thus it is advantage to someone who’s know a little about dance. Yet, this will not
a hinder for us to lose hope and do nothing. We keep striving even we felt pain on
our whole body. All those hard works, dedication and commitment had paid off.
Dancing is a great opportunity for me to try on because it is where I can
show my ability and efficiency. Dancing has numerous benefit on us physically,
mentally, and emotionally well being that makes ourselves become more
physically fit. Aside from that mentioned, dancing also can boost confidence, mood
and looking more younger. Dance is a great exercise that any ages should do as it
helps to lessen sickness, disease and any other health problems plus proper diet.
We human must work or move our body more, than resting for a whole day and
eating so much unhealthy foods such as snacks that contain fats and
carbohydrates. Man should select and choose wisely the food he consume such as
fruits and veggies. Do not drink alcoholic or any beverages because it contain
chemicals otherwise choose to drink pure and natural and that is water. Water is
more preferrable to drink because it helps dissolve minerals and nutrients, making
them more accessible to the body. Water also keep us hydrated, weight
management, flushing out toxins, radiant skin, energy boost, cognitive clarity and
muscle function. That is why whatever we takes, we must be responsible because
it is for our own good and safeness.
Going back about dance, in the beginning, I believed that I danced well and
I found it easy to do but once I figured out how much effort, practice,
coordination, and preparation for a dance, I thought differently. Dance is all about
expressing your emotions by using your body, having fun, gaining strength in my
muscles and developing a balance not only for dance purposes but for my inner
self. I learned that dance is more complex than I believe. There were elements I
should consider in my movements like posture, timing, poise, musicality and
expression, presentation, and to consider overall performance.
I really loved doing group dances because it got a chance for me to
understand my classmates a lot more. For the flash mob, I really felt like we
finally connected and worked and worked together as a group because I believed
the dance show was disastrous because no one was working together at first,
everyone skipped classes, they didn’t take it seriously but in the flash mob,
everyone worked together to practice dancing, put our full ability into movement
and we successfully entertained our crowd. I’d like to focus a lot more on dancing
instead of warm-ups and workouts. Although dancing requires a lot of working out,
I believe that dance introduced me to a new way of thinking. Dance was
something I thought only happened in nightclubs and on broad way, not
something I would partake in, or enjoy. This experience has even affected me out
of class. I feel in my muscles the difference that dance has made. I hold myself
differently when I walk. I feel physically stronger, more motivated, and way less
lazy. I have noticed a greater sense of feeling certain of myself, of how I want to
move, and comfortable to express physically in other areas of dance. As time went
on I started to break free of my fears of being judged. Dance has given me the
chance to find myself, allow me to breathe and hear what my body has to say to
me. I have found so much freedom within myself and even though my mind is
always racing, when the music starts playing and I start dancing, there is nothing
else that comes through my head than dance.
Sometimes in our life we must consider dancing as part of our life not
because just to show everybody how good you are but to show everyone that
dance is essential and you love what your are performing. At first I thought that
dance is only for talented person who watch by many audience but later on I
conclude I was wrong. Dance does not choose a specific person, not about your
identity, who you are or what you are but it’s about your inner self. If you find
love on dancing then go on don’t be affected and take serious about what other
says you. Let them say something about what you do but consider it as a positive
way which is a key for motivation that you must continue. Dancing is not about
competence rather it’s all about expressing the language of song.
When I started dancing on the stage, I felt nervous. I scared when people
watching on me like I’m losing confidence. But when I started dancing together
with my classmates, little by I calmed myself and don’t mind whatever happened.
I just dance with the music, and enjoy. Performing in front of the audience is not
easy especially when you felt nervous, everything you had practice might be gone
but what I did during the dance presentation I close my eyes for five second and
breath slowly. Thinking of I can do it , we can do it. I don’t allow the pressure,
worries and fears running first on my mind because surely the outcomes is not
satisfying and I don’t want to repent after. I know that nobody’s perfect, everyone
makes mistake. So whatever happen after the presentation, I’ll accept the
comments for me to learn.
Furthermore, I seriously give time and effort on our dancing because this
brought a big impact on our performance in the course of art appreciation.
Dancing is an art because it has also a principles, there is a movement, balance,
unity, emphasis, rhythm, proportion, variety, harmony, contrast, pattern,
repetition and space. We can perform dancing on stage If we’d like, sharing and
showing our talent to others. Dancing means to inspire people that showing them
of your own language, it’s not about to impress others nor feel them envy how
good you are. When you find love on dancing, you never thought that way but let
them feel of what you feel. Even more its very enjoyable when you have
companions on dancing, the unity and collaboration among others will lead to a
better and satisfying outcomes.
Over all, after the dance performance I felt at ease that at last we
accomplished the given task. Though it was not so easy during the rehearsal,
there are lots of trials and hardships but after we perform all the worries had
gone. We do try our best to perform well and it does happened. Before, during and
after the performance, with my experience I learned a lot from it such as the
effectiveness when working together and freeing the self from worries just enjoy
and have fun. Those times and feelings, I will treasure it the most. I will attached
it on my heart that I won’t forget it. For me, that was the best experience doing it
with my classmates. Laughing together, learning together, enjoying together and
performing together with them is a best moment happened in my life. I hope I’m
not only the one feel what I feel but also to my classmates. I hope they are
satisfied and enjoy also the performance.
