AMINISTRATION AND SUPERVISION___________________________________________

Knowledge of basic concepts of organizational management-Management is an

important element of every organization. It is the element that coordinates and plans for
the future. I will implement the use of planning, (the floor plan), organizing, (a time schedule
of stages of the project), directing, (conveying what I expect), and controlling, (establish a
time frame) for things to be done.
Management will mean that I need to assure all staff and sub-contractors cooperate and
interact to become more productive in reaching our goal of a fantastic classroom.
Ultimately, the organizational management theory has taught me to recognize what I
want and then seeing that gets done in the best way possible.
Management is the art of getting things done through and with the people in organized
groups.1

Familiarity with basic licensing and accreditation concepts-The state mandates the
many aspects of building requirements. The square feet, ratios, staff etc. 35 sq. ft. per child
with personal cubby space. This excludes storage areas, restrooms, kitchens and offices,
among others. Ratios are 1-13. I am aiming to have an A.M. and a P.M. class with 1 DPI
teacher and 1 assistant. The building will comply with all state and local codes.
Two bathrooms will be accessible from the 4-K classroom. Each will be equipped with two
stools and a 2 sink vanity. These will be child sized fixtures. I intend on installing motion
activated faucets, soap dispensers and paper towel holders.
Furnishing will be appropriate for 4-5 year olds and shall be durable and safe. Age
appropriate material and toys will be incorporated.
This space will be clean and kept in good repair. The classroom will not be less than 67F
or exceed 80F.
