Individual Assignment: Term Paper


The purpose of writing the term paper is to summarize
your thought processes and communicate them in
writing.
The length of the paper is limited to 7 to 9 pages, 1.5spaced with margins not exceeding one inch.
The paper should be simple, concise and well-written.
Review at least 9 current research articles related to
IS/IT and published by ACM/IEEE or affiliated to
ACM/IEEE.
There is no specific format for the term paper and
presentation, but substances of the paper should be
there. You can choose any format available by looking
at example on how one publish an article in any
journal or any conference proceeding:
IEEE style.
APA style, etc.

Due Date Three Weeks from Now


Progress report I: one week from now, you
should submit via scele, at least,
The topic of your term paper.
List of at least 9 research articles related to your
topic.
One paragraph short description of your term paper.

Progress report II: two weeks from now, you


should submit via scele, at least,
Revised progress report I
Structure of your term paper into sections
Description of each section

Each progress report will contribute to your final


grade for this term paper.

Steps To Write Term Paper


Strengthen a particular topic of your interest
from previous assignment (#1, #2).
Choose a key research article on that topic.
Read and critically analyzed the topic.
Look for another related articles (start from the
list of references from that key article).
Analyze the similarities and differences among
papers of the related topics.
Synthesize all related parts of papers and write
your opinion as your respond.
Organize your term paper into sections in order
to get the reader attention.

A good and sound term paper in the area
of IS/IT.
A sound topic, idea, issue of IS/IT
Supported by research literatures related to
IS/IT.

The quality standard is publishable in a


reputable journal.
An interesting topic to research on get
ready for final proposal report.
