Technical ability 1. Student displays very poor technical ability, consistently misses notes and fingerings, cannot produce a full and characteristic tone. 2. Students displays poor technical ability, misses many notes and fingerings, produces a poor characteristic tone 3. Student displays average technical ability, misses moderate to few notes and fingerings, produces an average characteristic tone 4. Student displays above average technical ability, misses few to no notes and fingerings, produces an above average characteristic tone 5. Student displays exceptional technical ability, misses few to no notes and fingerings, produces a superb characteristic tone Musicality 1. Student displays very poor musicality, does not utilizes dynamics, articulations, and/or phrasing. 2. Student displays poor musicality, poorly utilizes dynamics, articulations, and/or phrasing. 3. Student displays average musicality, utilizes some dynamics, articulations, and/or phrasing. 4. Student displays above average musicality, utilizes some to most dynamics, articulations, and/or phrasing. 5. Students displays exceptional musicality, utilizes most to all dynamics, articulations, and/or phrasing. Intonation 1. Student has very poor intonation and scale. 2. Student has poor intonation and scale. 3. Student has average intonation and scale. 4. Student has above average intonation and scale. 5. Student has exceptional intonation and scale. Rhythm 1. Student executes rhythms very poorly, missing all to most of the rhythms. 2. Student executes rhythms poorly, missing most of the rhythms. 3. Student executes rhythm in an average manner, missing a moderate amount of rhythms. 4. Student executes rhythm in an above average manner, missing few rhythms.
