Pride Sample

This school year, I am enrolled in a two period class; ROP Medical Technologies. I am
interested in a career in the medical field and this class has helped me gain great knowledge in
this field. I have accomplished many things in this class. In January, I received a certificate with
all the areas of training I have successful completed. Those of which consisting of: HIPAA
Privacy Compliance, OSHA Rules and Regulations, Bloodborne Pathogens, Vital Signs
Assessment, Patient Care Skills, and CPR / First Aid.
Each area that I was trained in is are very important assets when working in the medical
field. The class also involves working at a jobsite (hospital, private medical office, etc.). In order
to be capable of getting a job site, I had to successfully pass each area of training. In all honesty,
I was nervous I wouldnt pass some of the areas. I knew the material well, however, my nerves
would make me contradict myself. The training in HIPAA Privacy Compliance, OSHA Rules
and Regulations, and Bloodborne Pathogens required a lot of studying. I worked very hard to be
sure I remembered the material. Vital Signs Assessment, Patient Care Skills, and CPR / First Aid
required hands on training. Im a quiet person, so for CPR / First Aid I had to be much louder
and clear when speaking. It was different, but it kicked and Im proud I was able to pass. Each
area required me to come out of my shell and be a little louder. Im very proud of myself for
being able to do this; it has become very beneficial to me.
Accomplishing all the training is very important to me. First because I was unsure of
myself and thought I may not pass some parts. However, I let my nerves go and passed every
section. Also, these areas of training will be vital for me working in the medical field. I have
passed it now, so I will be confident when I may have to look over it again in college. I am very
pleased with my accomplishments.
