Content

Inquiry Based Instruction using Web 2.0 tools

Prerequisite
Skills
Objective

Participants must be able to navigate a search engine, send email (for assignment submission), and
understand basic software such as Microsoft Office.

Classroom instructors will describe inquiry based instruction by including at least three (3)
ways this learning style impacts student learning.

Classroom instructors will be able to demonstrate how inquiry based instruction enhances
student learning by creating at least one (1) inquiry based activity using a Web 2.0 tool.

Curriculum materials for planning
1) Watch instructor-made introduction screencast presentation on inquiry-based instruction.
2) Read instructor-made article on inquiry based instruction and examine specific tools such as
website builders to create inquiry-based activities.
3) Complete Activity 2.1 in which participants will create a presentation describing inquiry
based instruction. Be sure to include at least three (3) ways this learning style impacts
student learning. Submit via email by end of Day 2.
4) Complete Activity 2.2 in which participants will use what they learned about how inquiry
based instruction enhances student learning to create at least one (1) completed inquiry
based activity using a website builder of their choice. Submit via email by end of Day 2.

Evaluation
Activity 2.1 will be used to evaluate fulfillment of Objective 1- Describe inquiry based instruction
by including at least three (3) ways this learning style impacts student learning.
Activity 2.2 will be used to evaluate fulfillment of Objective 2- Demonstrate how inquiry based
instruction enhances student learning by creating at least one (1) inquiry based activity using a Web
2.0 tool.
