OBJECTIVES
To be abl e to expl ai n the appl i cati on of basi c

proj ects (cube mani pul ati on 2D to 3D)
To be fami l i ar wi th the desi gn process,
i nvesti gati on, observati on and i nterpretati on i n
si mpl e proj ects (model maki ng, desi gn process
and transl ati on of the gi ven word i nto a 3D)

TASK
Students are requi red to fol l ow the weekl y workshop
schedul e and task. Each week students are requi red
to bri ng thei r stati onari es and tool s to make 3 or
more model s duri ng the Fri day tutori al sessi on 9AM12NOON. Everyone has to be at cl ass at 9AM. It wi l l
be a gui ded workshop.
The task i s to make 3 or more cube
mock up
model s base on the gi ven techni que and pri nci pl es
of the week. And to compl ete the 3 (or more) model s
duri ng the tutori al sessi on.
The ai m i s to understand the di fferent methods to
mani pul ate a cube. Each week students are requi red
to fol l ow the task and eventual l y after 4 seri es of
gui ded and sel f l earn mani pul ation, students are
requi red to make the fi nal model !

The final task is to make a final cube model that
reflect or echo the given word (Fragmented/
Deformed/ Merge/ Mul ti pl y) by appl yi ng the
techni ques and methods that i s suggested i n the
fi rst 3 weeks of thi s proj ect .

WEEK 10
PART A - CUBE MANIPULATION SUBTRACTION
Students are requi red to do 3 types of cube;
1. Gri dded cube - sl i ced & removed
2. Gri dded cube - shi fti ng & remai n
3. Gri dded cube - shi fti ng & sl i ced pl us col l i si on of
geometry (of a different type of geometry shape or
form)

WEEK ELEVEN
PART A - CUBE MANIPULATION ADDITION
Students are requi red to do 3 types of cube;
1. Edge to edge + Face to face
Maki ng a square by addi ng smal l er squares or cube
or pl anes of di fferent proporti onate si zes need to
add on to each other.
2. Rotating Grids + Interlocking
Mani pul ati ng a square through a rotated gri d.
Di fferent proporti onate si zes of cubes and squares
are al l owed.
3. Collision of Geometry + Intersecting
Mani pul ati ng squares by col l i si on of geometry
shape(s) or form(s)(one type onl y)

WEEK TWELF
PART A - CUBE MANIPULATION TRANSFORMATION
Students are requi red to do 3 types of cube base on
the word gi ven to them, appl yi ng the techni ques and
methods from week 10 and week 11 that best refl ect
the gi ven word. (can combi ne techni ques)

After the tutori al sessi on, to come up wi th the fi nal


desi gn, the students are
requi red to choose one
desi gn from the W12 tutori al sessi on and try to make
i t wi th a maxi mum of 3 other materi al s or j ust one
other type of materi al .
Then between thei r group members they wi l l deci de on
one model that they l i ke most and make the fi nal
model usi ng thei r chosen materi al (s) base on the
model but i t has to be doubl e the si ze of the weekl y
mock up model s.

WEEK THIRTEEN
Submission & Presentation
Students are requi red to present thei r weekl y mock up
model as shown on the fi nal outcome sl i de wi th a 3
mi nute verbal presentati on.
Under each model s there shoul d be a descri pti on of
the model and techni ques appl i ed.
Board 2 i s for the fi nal model and expl anati on about
the process and the fi nal model and how i t refl ect the
gi ven word. May i ncl ude defi ni ti on of the given word
etc. Must i ncl ude proper desi gn and archi tecture
terms. It s al l about the desi gn process. Show more
di agrams.
