My Kickboxing Experience
1. I learned that lifelong wellness is both simpler and more complex than it the phrase suggests.
The added complexity comes from the fact that there is no one exercise that works every muscle
in your body, as well as the fact that there is no "one size fits all" approach to attaining a state of
wellness. The simplicity comes from the awareness that because of this variety of approaches,
one is capable of mixing and matching to create their own personal atmosphere of lifelong
wellness.
2. I am already applying this concept of lifelong wellness into my life. I am currently focusing on
changing my eating habits and engaging in various forms of physical activity for the purpose of
reaching and maintaining a state of wellness.
3. I intend to continue with exercise throughout my life, with lap swimming and martial arts as
my primary focus. I intend to continue because I want to live a healthy lifestyle and resist the
temptation to live unhealthily.
4. The only complaint I have about this particular course is that we were not allowed to do fullcontact kickboxing. I appreciated learning the form and fitness aspect of it, but I would have
enjoyed learning it with an actual opponent. I do suppose that HLAC 1030 was made noncontact for a reason, but I still would have appreciated learning to defend myself with the moves
I learned.
