LITERATURE REVIEW

The participation in co-curricular activities

has positive impact on personal development
for both genders (Leung, Ng, and Chan,
2011).
The participation in some non-academic cocurricular activities might not directly
benefit academic performance (Leung, Ng,
and Chan, 2011).
Participation in co-curricular activities is
widely thought to play a key role in students
academic success (Huang & Chang, 2004).

CONT.

Co-curricular activities were positively

correlated to academic performance (Hanks
& Eckland, 1976; Camp, 1990).
Most of the co-curricular activities are very
helpful in constructing and empowering the
academic achievements of the students,
although they do not have direct impact on
curricular achievements (Marsh and
Kleitman, 2002; Guest and Schneider, 2003).

CONCLUSION

In overall, the involvement in the cocurriculum do not give high impact towards
students achievement because they believed
that their achievement in PMR Exam rely on
their effort in academic performance rather
than co-curriculum performance
Our findings are interrelated with the
research done by Leung, Ng, and Chan, 2011
that conclude the participation in some nonacademic co-curricular activities might not
directly benefit academic performance

RECOMMENDATIONS

The facilities in school should be

improved.
Teacher should involved together with
students
during
