What We Are Working On

Reading: We are reading our core novel The
Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane.
Children are engaged in meaningful
conversation around this text.
Math: Please continue to practice
multiplication facts nightly as part of
homework. We will be working on angles,
elapsed time, probability, and measurement
during this quarter.
Writing: We have begun our 4th marking
period research project. We are introducing
Opinion/Argument writing which includes
taking a stance and making a claim on an
issue and using reasoning and evidence to
argue their opinion.

Homework
Homework is assigned every night!
Please check your childs planner or
book bag to make sure they are
completing their assignments. One
of the most important things you can
do for your child is reviewing their
homework with them. They are still
at the age where they need
assistance and guidance when
completing their work. It also gives
you a chance every night to talk with
your child about their day.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE

Children are preparing for the new SBAC

tests that will replace the CMTs. Practice
tests are online and children should be
familiarizing themselves with the use of
the keyboard (typing) and maneuvering the
mouse. (zoom in/out, expand, cut and
paste/drag, etc.) Practicing at home will
help prepare them technically and
increase their stamina.
