2 Reflection
Candidates regularly evaluate and reflect on their professional practice and
dispositions to improve and strengthen their ability to effectively model and
facilitate technology-enhanced learning experiences. (PSC 6.2/ISTE 6c)

Reflection:
My Weebly blog is the artifact for this reflection. It was required for all the ITEC
classes. The goal was to self-reflect on the course and the things I learned from the
courses. I used the blog to post my thoughts about my learning experiences from
the different classes. Below the journal describes this artifact.
At the conclusion of each of the courses for the ITEC program, I regularly
evaluated and reflected upon what I learned from the courses and how each
experience shaped my practice and beliefs about education. Now, since Im at the
end of the program, I enjoy going back through the reflections and read through the
experiences I encountered. Each class has taught me how to integrate technology
into my classroom. This has been my goal from the start. I wanted the courses to
enhance my professional practice in technology and change my disposition
about the use of technology. Reading through my thought process I believe I have
succeeded in that goal. It has given me more confidence to introduce what I have
learned to my colleagues. Which in turn has prepared me for more of a leadership
role.
The blogs I have written has reminded me how important it is to reflect on what Im
doing in my classroom. As an educator, I believe that is one of the main ways we
grow professionally. We have to evaluate about how changes are meeting the needs
of our students. One improvement I would make is to reflect throughout the course
instead of waiting until the end. If I had done that I would have more insight on the
things that were working and things I might wanted to change.
The work I put into my blogs improved faculty development. I was able to
communicate to my department at the end of each course on what I thought would
improve our department. I also encouraged my team to write a blog about their
weekly encounters and lesson plans. True reflection is the only way to grow.
