Research Process

For my documentary, I will need to find some archive footage that works for my
documentary. I will have to be relevant to what my interviewees are talking about, that I
can tie in as they are talking. For example, if they are talking about the best place to
photograph, I will get some stills or archive footage of that place as they are explaining
why. If I am interviewing about film making, I can cut some behind the scenes footage of
the film they are describing etc. I will also need to come up with some questions I can
ask my interviewees that will both be interesting for my documentary, and relevant to
what it is about. I will firstly gather some primary research by asking my interviewees
some really basic questions about the subject in order to then go and find some archive
footage that is relevant to what they have said/described. This will then help me work out
what more detailed questions I am going to ask next based on their knowledge.
