But, according to the participants it wasnt

money that brought their happiness. Pg.162

That response does not surprise me at all. I

know plenty of wealthy people and they arent
happy because they have a lot of money. They
just happened to be successful but the money
never changed how happy they were of are.

In short, the research indicates that, overall,

being extraordinarily poor has a negative
influence on happiness, but that some very
poor individuals are, in fact, somewhat
satisfied, and even extremely poor people are
usually not depressed. Pg. 167

This reminds me about an ex-girlfriend, her

uncle lived on the streets of San Francisco,
California. They brought him back to Ohio and
got him a job and a steady life, he was so
unhappy here with all that he had that he up
and moved back to California to live on the
streets because he was happier then.

Happiness= What we have(attainments)

What we want( aspirations)
pg.170

I love this equation that is how I look at my

personal wealth as related to my happiness for
the future. I want the money only so that it will
help me get to my aspirations. I am not looking
to be rich just for rich sake.
