ABSTRACT:

ANALYSIS/REFLECTION:

Assistive technology incorporated into the classroom,

with the use of Ontario Educational Software
Service, in which is distributed to most schools. This
article explains who can use it and why it is
beneficial.

The importance of assistive technology has been on

a rise for quite a while, so why not take the plunge
and get on board. This article outlines to use of
Ontario Educational Software services, which is an
educational software in which provides assistance
in all subject areas and grade levels. This system is
suitable not only for a whole class, but extremely
manageable for special needs students. From what I
have seen in my field placement- the use of
technology; if done right has made wondrous,
smoothly flowing lessons along with in class work
to be phenomenal. Being placed in a behavioural
class, was considered challenging, my host teacher
proved everyone wrong. The use of assistive
technology engaged all students no matter what
behaviour it was collaborative and constructive.
The students were doing more than the teacher,
they used the smart board when partaking in
classroom discussions, iPads for in class research
on different subject areas and classroom Weebly
for all classroom work to be completed, extra
resources and teacher parent communication, these
are all things I would definitely incorporate in my
classroom.
