Santiago

Santiago is a boy that is a Shepard. He sells his

sheep in order to pursue his personal legend.

Characteristics of Santiago: Cheerful, kind, adventurous, and

courageous. On his journey Santiago meets many different
people who help him along the way. He is very kind and
trusts all of these people that he meets even though some
betray him. Santiago is a cheerful character that tries to
stay positive throughout the book. During his journey he is
tested many times for his courage. The Alchemist tests him
before taking him across the desert to the pyramids.
Although Santiago faces many challenges throughout his
journey he is focused on getting to the pyramids and is very
adventurous.
