PROPOSAL KRYSTEN AND

ALEXIS
1. INTRODUCTION/PROBLEM STATEMENT
At MSU, parking on campus tends to be lacking and expensive. We
want to propose that gold lots should be first come, first serve on the
weekends instead of being unable to park in Gold lots from 2-6am, and
parking passes should be cheaper because tuition is expensive enough
as it is, or students living on campus would receive parking passes as
part of their room and board. It is inconvenient for many students who
need to drive to campus and cannot find a spot, and parking lots are
far away for students who live on campus.

2. PROJECT PLAN
A. Methods: Conduct a survey of students who live on campus and drive
to campus. We will split the tasks evenly between the two of us.
B. Timeline: Over a few days, we will survey students who live both on
and off campus and ask about their thoughts about campus parking.
We will also ask the Cashiers Office if they could tell us how many
parking passes theyve sold this year.
C. Deliverables: At the end, we will have recognized a problem at MSU
and a solution to the problem. We will know if we have been successful
if something changes in the parking lot availability or parking pass
prices.

3. QUALIFICATIONS
Our group is qualified to do this research because one of us is a
student who lives on campus and must walk a long distance out to the
parking lot to drive to work and bring back groceries, and one of us
lives off campus and struggles finding available parking places on a
regular basis.

4. CONCLUSION

Our project follows the criteria about proposing a problem and a

solution within MSU.
