Introduction

Project Context

There is indeed a growing urgency to embrace and adopt modern technologies to meet

the ever-changing and limitless human needs and desires in this fast-changing world. The current

environment is constantly changing, mainly because of the growth and improvement in science

and technological developments that enable the invention of various intelligent gadgets,

machines, and systems.

Bulacan State University, located in Malolos, Bulacan, is one of the most respected

educational institutions and in-demand schools in Bulacan. The University has a long history of

producing experienced, ethical, and service-oriented experts who repeatedly achieve a passing

score on board examinations and evolve powerful motivating influences in the province and

outside fields. One of the goals of Bulacan State University is to "Provide Relevant, Quality, and

Accessible Education" for the students. Through internationally known field degrees placed in a

new teaching and learning environment, the University is devoted to making education

accessible to deserving and qualified learners.

Due to the excellent performance of Bulacan State University in teaching students, the

number of students who want to study at BulSu continues to increase. As a result, numerous

students bring their private vehicles inside the campus to conserve money and time on

commuting. Unorganized parking spaces may result in areas left unnoticed and unused, and

disorganized parked motorcycles may act as a blockage to specific pathways. For that reason,
working students may find it much more challenging to leave immediately. The growing

enrollments and a massive proportion of car ownership result in reduced parking spaces,

resulting in time delays, fuel waste, and heavy traffic around the campus vicinity.

Through this Capstone project, the Campus Parking system is designed to make the lives

of students and faculty associates comfortable when looking for and managing the parking

spaces inside the University.

Purpose and Description

The purpose of this Capstone Project and the Development of a Campus Parking system

for the Students of Bulacan State University will certainly benefit the following:

Students: The proposed system provides ease for students at the university to define the

available parking spaces inside the campus. The system will also display directions for parking

spaces for new students.

Faculty: The designed system and organized parking spaces provide comfort for faculty

personnel at the university to lessen the traffic and delays inside the school.

Guards: The developed project offers comfort to the university guards in terms of arranging

parking spaces and assisting with traffic blockages inside the campus.

Future Researchers: Researchers working in the same field will benefit from this research

because it will provide more relevant materials and information. This literature also serves as a

reference point for them as they develop.

General and Specific Objectives

General Objectives

The general objective of the study is to provide a comprehensive way for the students to

park within the vicinity of Bulacan State University.

Specific Objectives

1) To optimize the campus’ parking spaces for the students.

2) To guide routes for students to their designated parking spaces.

3) To order parking spaces for easy layout and management of parked vehicles

4) To create and develop an interactive parking system that is capable of:

A. Showing the location of campus parking spaces.

B. Showing occupied and unoccupied parking spaces.

C. Monitor the number of vehicles in the designated parking spaces.

D. Reserve parking spaces

Scope and Limitations of the Study

This research aims to provide a solution for the students of Bulacan State University in

their parking space inside the campus. It is a campus parking system that works in android and

only the students will have access to the application. This project can help the students to find an

open spot in the parking space around the vicinity. The campus parking system involves

displaying the directions for the available parking space, displaying the available spots and

where to park, displaying the number of parked vehicles, marking occupied parking spaces,
showing if the space is occupied or unoccupied, reserve parking spaces, and letting the other

students know if the spot is available or not. However, the project does not include the current

situation of the vehicle, directions on how to park, and issue violation.
