PROPERTIES
BERMACID 40 Z is an anti-bacterial product for the tanning industry and is nearly exclusively used
in soaking.
Microbes and bacteria reproduce very quickly in soaking whenpreserving agents are not used, and
they can irreversibly compromise the leather. Putrefaction smell and leather detachment from
leather are sign of uncontrolled microbes reproduction in soaking.
BERMACID 40 Z addition to the soaking float will avoid leather damages due to microbial
decomposition with consequent loss of dermal substance. The damages provoked before soaking,
for example due to insucient preservation during storing or raw material transportation, are
irreparable and the addition of
BERMACID 40 Z will not eliminate them.
BERMACID 40 Z necessary dosing depends on impurities, temperature and soaking length.
We recommend adding BERMACID 40 Z in the soaking water before introducing the leather for
quick and good product distribution.

USE
From 0,05% to 0,1% BERMACID 40 Z, calculated on soaking water, or 500 1000 g BERMACID 40
Z per m3 of soaking water.
