Overview
The storyline takes place after a scientist, named Dr. Ebolio Jones M.D., wakes up after an
undetermined amount of time and finds that the earth has been ravaged with plague and
famine. Taking shelter in one of the only buildings that remains, a laboratory ,Dr. Ebolio
Jones M.D. puts his knowledge of chemistry behind finding a cure and undoing Dmitri
Avogadros evil disease.
The game will be played with Dr. Ebolio Jones M.D. as the central character. The player will
have to find their way to the laboratory and use the clues that remain there to formulate a
cure for the pressing disease.

Goals
The ultimate goal of the game is to find an end to the plague. By using clues within the
laboratory to make the right concoction, the player will either save mankind with a
lifesaving antidote or lose it to the effects of the plague.
While the game aims at curing a disease, it subsequently teaches players the importance of
knowing the basics of chemistry.

Educational Value
This game teaches players about the fun of chemistry through puzzles and levels that
mimic the making and the use of an active catalyst to serve as an antidote for a dangerous
outbreak.
An antidote is made up of a similar toxin to the one people are trying to defeat. The toxin is
injected into a being with the hope that antibodies will be formed to fight off the disease.

Our game will teach players the importance of using chemistry to make the toxins that
become the antidotes when used under observation.
Puzzle 1; a mixing game that demonstrates how to combine chemicals to form a catalyst.
Puzzle 2; a tagging game that demonstrates how the catalyst will combine with the
compound to form the toxin/antidote.

Puzzle 3; a shooting game, that will form as entertainment, but that must also mimics the
tagging and injecting of victims with a certain disease, in order to cure them.

Game Within a Game

Once the player enters the main laboratory there will be three tables that he or she can
interact with. Each of these three tables will transport the player into a level, that mimics
the making of an antidote. The progression of the levels allows the player to come closer to
finding a cure, while also using chemistry to solve a problem.

Game Summary
Level One: The player must mix chemicals from separate beakers into one final concoction
that will cure the virus.
Method of Gameplay: Click and drag with animations

3
Level Two: The player acts as the catalyst product, formed from the previous level, and
must attach itself to the correct floating particles to create the antidote.
Method of Gameplay: Key press to float around the room with animations.
Level Three: After having created the antidote, the player is attacked by a swarm of
infected persons. The player must dodge the infected people by jumping throughout the
laboratory and knocking out those who cannot be saved.
Method of Gameplay: Key press to dodge enemies with animations.

Player Interaction
The demo only has single player aspects of the game in which one saves their city from the
game which tries to destroy it. The MMO will have multilateral competition in which players
will compete with each other to destroy each other's cities and keep their own cities safe
from disease.

Game Mechanics
Keys and Controls:
[A] Key: Move left
[D] Key: Move right
[Enter] Button: Enter
[Backspace] Key: Exit
The left and right keys will be used by the player to move Dr. Ebolio Jones M.D., and allow
him to access different areas of the room, both outside and within the laboratory. The

4
enter key will allow Dr. Ebolio Jones M.D. to enter into scenarios, whether moving from
outside into the laboratory or from the laboratory into the ingame game. The backspace
key will allow Dr. Ebolio Jones M.D. to escape from the scenarios he has entered into.

Objective:
Cure the virus that threatens mankind by using all the tools and resources available in the
lab.

Rules and Procedures:

The rules of the game are to complete the puzzles in order to remove the disease from the
city. The procedures start with walking to the right and into the laboratory. The player will
then have to walk to every puzzle and complete them in order to get one step closer to
defeating Dmitri Avogadro.

Scarcity and Utility:

The primary resources of our game are the tools and mechanisms that serve a purpose
through every level of game play.
Scarcity: The instructions to solve the order of ingredients in the first puzzle only share
with the player a limited amount of information in which to solve their puzzle.
Utility: The primary objects of our games all serve a certain purpose that contributes to
game play: The title character moves around the room. The computer and tables transport
the player into certain levels of game play. The vials are used to sort out a recipe that will
cure the disease in level one. The catalyst will float around the screen and move to react
with a compound in level 2. The enemy will try to attack and come at the title character in
level 3.

Conflict:
Dr. Ebolio Jones. M.D. acts under a player vs. game mentality. The players main conflict will
come in the form of attempting to beat the layers to move forward in game play and
eventually beat the game.
Specific examples include: solving the riddle in puzzle 1 to find the correct order in which
to pour the chemicals to form the catalyst. // In puzzle 3; attack the infected persons while
injecting them with serum to save them from the disease.

Boundaries:

6
The boundaries of our game exist in the sense that there are certain things the player must
do to beat the game and certain things they are not allowed to do at all within this game
play.
The player must complete each level (in order) in order to move onto the next level and
eventually beat the game and defeat the disease.
The player is not allowed to operate outside the boundaries of the room.
What separates our game from real life is the fact that this event has not taken place and
players should be encouraged to mix any kinds of chemicals together without the
supervision of a qualified adult.

Outcome:
If the player completes every level within the timeframe allotted then they will have
defeated Dmitri Avogadro and cured the city of Ebolio, named after Ebolio Jones who
discovered the disease.

Probability:
In the second puzzle the obstacles will be randomly moving across the screen, this causes
the player to have to change their tactics to reach their objective.

Basic Expectations
Player will need to explore the laboratory and outside to find the clues.
The player also needs a basic knowledge of chemistry and how chemicals can
combine to form other chemicals and cures.

Target Audience

7
The target audience of this game will be teenagers and up. This will be important because
you will have to have some knowledge of Chemistry to understand and succeed at this
game.

Genre
This game is an educational puzzle game. It is educational in that it will teach players a bit
about Chemistry, and it is a puzzle game in that players will have to concoct a certain
formula to cure an unknown virus and save the world.

ESRB Rating
Everyone 10+
This game does have a kid friendly mentality but the last levels cartoonish violence may be
considered to mature for extremely young children.

MMO Ideas
In an MMO scenario, each player starts in a city and they use diseases against other cities
to destroy the other city. The other players in that city must find a cure for the disease
before the population reaches 0. There will be a global chat in which players can socialize.
They will have scoreboards available in the game so that they can compare their score with
friends and family. Players will enjoy comparing the rates at which they can destroy cities
using biological warfare and curing those same cities or merely keeping the diseases at bay
with vaccines.
