of Borneo, including in Sabah.
Their other relative is the Sumatran orangutans (P. abelii) which are
only found in Sumatra.
Most intelligent primates
Endangered species. Their population declined by 50% in the past 60
years.

Decline in their population are related to destruction of rainforest

(habitat) due to unsustainable human activities such as in logging,
agriculture, and urbanization.
