50-m Transect Line with markers every 1m

meter stick or any measuring device

field guide of Philippine Corals
Procedure
1 Lay down the 50-m transect line from left to right. Go to the zero meter mark on the
line.
2 Standing on the line, stretch your arms out to both sides.
3 All organisms found within arms length on either side of the line are included in the
survey population from the zero meter mark to the 1 meter mark.
4 Then 1 m to 2 m mark. (2 m to 3 m mark and so on)
5 Identify the first group of organisms at 0 meters.
6 Record your observations in the Data Sheet below.
