Subject:- APPROVAL FOR EXTENSION OF SERVICES

CONTRACT OF NATIONAL CONSULTANT

(COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT) OF SLBAP FOR TWO
YEARS

Project Director, SLBAP vide PUC has informed that

contract of Mr. Ejaz Ahmad, National Consultant (Community
Development) will expire by 31.07.2009. He has, therefore,
requested for approval of additional 23 man-months of the consultant
on the following grounds:-

i. MTR mission of ADB has approved the extension of the

man months of the consultant for further 23 months.

ii. Project Steering Committee has agreed to revise man

months of NPBMES from 21 to 28 man-months.

The case has been has been examined in Regional

Planning Section and it is observed that extension in the consultancy
man-months of the NPBMES was agreed by the Project Steering
Committee meeting held on 15.05.2009 from 21 to 28 man-months
subject to condition that Project Director, SLBAP will submit the
revised PC-I to P&D Department within a week time upon which
anticipating approval of ECNEC will be sought after recommendation
of PDWP. (Minutes of Project Steering Committee at Flag “A”).

We may, therefore, regret the request of Project Director,

SLBAP for extension in proposed man-months and advise for
expediting the revision of PC-I as per scope recommended by Project
Steering Committee meeting.
