Computers.
• Invented by IBM 1970,were of 8
inch.
• 3 1/2 inch floppy developed in
1984 & can store data up to
1.44 MB .
• Special floppies were made to
hold 2.88 MB of data, but they
were not commonly available.
Advantages & Drawbacks
of floppy
i. Since limited small data
storage capacity, enough
for TEXT documents.
ii. Can read and write data
several times.
iii. Cost is high as compared
to normal CDs.
iv. Since size is small, easy to
carry, portable.
v. Data can be protected by
write protected tab.
