Scramble Rules:
The 2010 AFRICOM Golf Tournament is a Texas Scramble
Captain’s Choice competition consisting of four players per flight.
This modified Texas Scramble competition will be conducted in
accordance with the Rules of Golf established by the United States
Golf Association (USGA). Each player must have at least one of their
drives be used during the course of the tournament.
On each hole, each team member drives and the best drive is
selected by the team. Each team member picks up the other shots
not used and proceeds to the selected shot. All players hit from
where the original shot lay and repeat the process until holed out. If
a team has only 3 players, player “A” may hit two shots each time
the team plays a stroke, player “B” does the same on the second
hole and player “C” does the same on the third hole. When a shot is
selected, mark its position (with a tee) then players may place their
ball to hit within one club-length no nearer to the hole and in the
same condition as the original shot. If original shot is in the rough, all
shots must be played from the rough, if in the bunker from the
bunker. You cannot use the club-length to get you out of a condition.
When on the green, mark the ball, players may play from a 6”
maximum from the marker on either side.
Closest to the Pin, Hole-in-One and Longest Drive contests are
individual. Teams must keep up with the team in front of them.
Please do not play extra holes when finished, remember others are
waiting on you. Prizes will be awarded according to the number of
teams. Men play from yellow tees and Ladies from red.
Players NOT registered until payment is made. NO spots
will be held for unpaid players!
