Narrative: Love the way you lie.

Narrative: The video starts off with a couple cuddling in bed,

the first impression the audience gets is that they are in love
however as the video continues problems appear in the
relationship. The video shows violence and addiction to drugs.
The end of the video is the same clip from the start; this shows
the audience that the relationship is just a cycle with there
problems.

Hero – Male protagonist ‘Charlie from lost’ (wants to be happy
in the relationship)
Villain – Female character ‘Megan Fox’ (goes out with other
guys)

The video also follows the theory of Todorov; there is
equilibrium, a disruption and re-equilibrium.
Equilibrium – Showing loving couple
Disruption – Showing the arguments and violence
Re-Equilibrium – The couple in love again.

There are a number of enigmas throughout the video including:
- Will they get back together/will they break up?
- Why do they argue?
- What is the man’s addiction?

The text has chosen to construct it’s narrative in this way, for a
number of different reasons, the most important reasons for
doing this are:
- To keep the audience interested.
- To make the audience watch the video more than once.
- To help you understand the song/lyrics more.
- To show who the artists are e.g eminem and rhianna
- To cater for both sexes. E.g violence and sex for boys,
and a love story for girls.
