The document summarizes the results of a survey about preferences for elements in a hip-hop music video. It discusses questions asked about the demographics of respondents, whether they enjoy watching hip-hop videos, elements they like to see in videos, preferences for storyline vs no storyline, use of real people vs cartoons, special effects, lighting effects, and choice of artist. The majority preferred a storyline, real people, and no fancy effects or lighting tricks, and most chose Kanye West as the featured artist, though the creators may go with Kid Cudi instead.

people who like Hip-Hop and those that don't so we can now include things in our video even people who don't like Hip-Hop will enjoy.
This question is quite simply to show how many
males and females we asked. We decided to ask 15 boys and only 5 girls because we wanted to appeal more to boys and we thought they would be more into the Hip-Hop genre but at the same time we didn't want to rule out the opinion of girls completely.
Again we wanted to just gain a quick background
to the people we were asking the questions we didn't want to ask anyone younger than the age of 14 because we didn't really think that the Hip- Hop genre would appeal to them. Instead we tried to target people around age 16 - 18. We wanted to find out if people actually enjoyed watching Hip-Hop videos so we could find out if they we even bother watching our video after giving their ideas. Also if people have chosen no we can only assume they either don’t watch music videos or like a different genre therefore we can add things to make them want to watch our Hip-Hop Video.
We wanted to find out exactly what people liked
in a music video we tried to use things that you would normally find in a Hip-Hop video but we wanted to see what they wanted more of so we could include that. As you can see lots of people wanted standard Hip-Hop things in the video women, lip syncing expensive clothes etc. However we don’t think we are going to include fancy cars because we can’t afford to rent one and we are going to try and have only one or two women in our video.
We decided to ask this question so we could find
out whether we should stick to a storyline in our video or just have things going on in the background that are completely irrelevant to the text. Most people said they wanted a storyline so we are going to follow the story for our music video. We wanted to see if people wanted real people in the video or a cartoon styled version of them. It turns out most people wanted real people so we are going to stick with that.
We asked this question because often you see
fancy effects in videos nowadays and we wanted to see if our audience thought it was necessary. Not many people did so I think we will try and stay away from effects as much as possible.
This is similar to the question above as you see
lots of lighting tricks and effects in music videos. But it would seem that not many people did so again we will stay fairly clear of lighting effects. Finally we needed to work out what artist to do for our music video we already had a few songs in mind for each of these artists but couldn’t quite decide so we hoped the audience’s opinion would help us. Most people chose Kanye – West although we think we might go with Kid Cudi because he fitted our ideas better and still a large group of people liked him.
