Sub-topic: Introduction to Verb Phrases

General Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to understand verb phrases and

types of verb phrases.

Specific Objectives: At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

i). Identify main verb and auxiliary verb in a sentence.

ii). Construct sentences with transitive and intransitive verbs.

Moral Values: Cooperation

Thinking Skills (CCTS): Discussing, providing idea, giving opinions.

Teaching Aid(s): Manila cards, computer, PowerPoint slide, whiteboard, marker pens.

Previous Knowledge: Students have learnt about phrases.

Teaching Method: Lecture, questioning.

Content: Verb Phrase consists of main verb and auxiliary verb.

2 types of verb phrases:

i) Transitive : Verbs that require subject and one or more objects.

ii) Intransitive : Verbs that does not take a direct object.
