The time response is of control system is usually divided into two parts.

• Transient response
• Steady-state response
Steady-state response

• In control systems the steady-state response is


simply the response when time reaches
infinity. e.g. a sine wave .

• The steady state in a feedback control system,


when compared with input, gives an
indication of the accuracy of system.
Transient response

• Transient response is defined as that part of


the response which goes to zero as time
