INTRODUCTION TO SITRC
Sandip Foundation was established with the primary objective of rendering selfless,
dedicated and yeomen service to higher education in Engineering branches,
Management, Arts, Science, and Paramedical Sciences.
The trustees are already involved in the field of higher education for last fifteen years.
During the period the trustees have rendered valuable services to thousands of
students. In our endeavor to further the cause of professional education, we propose
to establish Engineering College titled Sandip Institute of Technology and Research
Center in Nashik, Maharashtra.
The institute makes use of an appropriate mix of pedagogical tools to train students to
handle professional responsibilities. These include lectures by an appropriate mix of
in-house and visiting faculty, expert lectures, discussions, seminars, project
assignments and visits to industries and project sites. Continuous evaluation and
counseling are important parts of the academic programme.
Objectives of the Institution
Academics
At SITRC, semester pattern is followed. An academic year consists of two semesters. The
Fall (Odd) Semester begins in June and the Winter (Even) Semester in December. The
academic schedule mentioned in the academic calendar will be strictly followed.
Classroom Teaching
Qualified faculty members assigned with various theory subjects prepare course plans
using the standard format provided by the institute with emphasis on 'learning' of the
students. The instructional or lecture delivery of the faculty will be through a set of
Educational Technology / Tools opted by the faculty. The lectures lay emphasis on the
following:
Knowledge content (topics in the curriculum)
Utility value - application in real life
Latest developments
The classroom sessions will be interactive and will encourage the students to think
independently and inspire their creativity. The faculty will ensure that the students in the
class have assimilated the content projected. High level of discipline will be maintained
in the classroom. The faculty members are empowered to curb any disturbance and
ensure that the time is used fruitfully. To this effect, students are expected to maintain
decorum and refrain from causing any disturbance in the classroom. Camera cell phones
are prohibited in the campus. Students are advised not to carry cell phones to the
classrooms and laboratories.
Classroom instructions may be supplemented by students' presentations and / or guest
lectures by external/internal experts.
Attendance will be taken by the faculty concerned at the beginning of each session. All
the classes will begin on time and the students coming late will not be given attendance.

Trying to make a landmark in the field of education, College Library is endowed with
RFID implementation along with large number of titles and volumes of reference books,
textbooks and handbooks required for teaching learning activities. Besides technical
books, there are good number of books on management, humanities, and literature. It has
well designed and maintained stack rooms. The library database is centrally computerized
for accession and renewals with smart card for the students and RFID for the books for
easy, secure and quick operation.
Beside this,
Library abbience is beautiful and pleasing, as one can see mountain and college
campus.
This is a survey to study and understand learning habits of people outside home.
To study the student behavior and analysis with respect to studying of student in
SITRC.
To identify the factors influencing the student habits.
To analyze the likes and dislikes of the student keeping in mind their
preferences.
CHAPTER 2
RESEARCH DESIGN
MEANING OF RESEARCH
In this project Descriptive research is used. Research includes surveys and fact
finding enquiries of different kinds. The major purpose of descriptive research is
description of state of affairs as it exists at present. The main characteristic of his
method is that researcher has no control over the variable; he can only report what
has happened or what is happening? In descriptive research (the research method
to collect the information) ‘survey method’ of all kinds are used, which include
comparative survey method and correlation method i.e. Income structure,
purchasing, habits etc.
SAMPLE SURVEY
SURVEY:
Any project requires an adequate and reliable data. There are two methods of collecting
the information:-
1. Study of the entire population ( census ):
Here the survey is conducted on each and every unit of the population.
Greater accuracy may be ensured, but it requires more efforts, consumes more time and
requires more funds. In some cases the census method becomes a necessity but most of
the times another method viz. the sampling technique is preferred.
2. Sampling technique:
It is the method in which only a part of the population is taken into
consideration. This method not only requires less time but also is economical. It gives
reliable results. On the basis of the sample study we can predict and generalize the
behaviour of the mass phenomenon.
Before conducting a sample survey, we have to decide first what exactly has to
be sampled. For this purpose entire population is divided into parts called as ‘sampling
units’. These units must cover the whole of the population and they must not overlap, in
the sense that every element in the population belongs to one and only one. A statistical
survey may either general or special purpose survey. In a general purpose survey we
may obtain data which are useful for several purposes. A special purpose survey is that
in which data obtained are useful in analyzing a particular problem only.
Quality of survey results depends considerably on proper planning of the survey. The
following steps have to be undertaken before the survey is conducted.
o Specification of the purpose.
o Scope of the survey: Three factors exert great influence on the scope.
o Object of enquiry.
o Availability of time.
o Availability of resources.
o Unit of data collection.
o Sources of data.
o Techniques of data collection.
o Census technique.
o Sampling technique.
o Frame: Refers to the listing of all units in a population under study.
o Degree of accuracy desired.
Scrutiny of the data: The filled-in questionnaires should be carefully scrutinized to find
out, whether the data furnished is reliable and mutually consistent.
DESIGNING OF QUESTIONNAIRE
Questionnaire forms the very basic block of any survey. Once the subject of the
project was finalized, the next challenge was to design a good and efficient
questionnaire. The points to be included in the project were listed down and the
questionnaire was prepared in such a way that we could know maximum of what the
consumers prefer and expect from a fast food joint.
A very wide range of subjects could be incorporated in the questionnaire but it
has to be precise. So some of the important questions were short listed and the
following questionnaire was prepared.
The questions were grouped into categories like personal information like what
they feel about library overall, its service and management and their likes and dislikes
about the same.
DATA COLLECTION
Data collection forms an important step in preparing a project. Utmost care must
be taken while collecting data because data constitutes the foundation on which the
superstructure of statistical analysis is built. The results obtained from the analysis of
the data should be reliable enough, so that further policy decisions are possible.
While deciding the method of data collection to be used, one should keep in
mind, two types of data viz.
Primary data
Secondary data
Before collecting primary data, it is desirable that one should go through the
existing literature and learn what is already known of the general area in which the
specific problem falls and all surrounding information that may give leads and lessons.
This helps in avoiding duplications of efforts and waste of resources.
i) Primary Data
MERITS
1. Primary sources show data in greater detail.
2. It frequently includes definitions of terms and units used.
3. It often includes a copy of the schedule and he description of the procedure
used in selecting the sample and in collecting the data.
4. The secondary source may contain mistakes.
ii ) Secondary Data:
Data which is not originally collected but rather obtained from published or
unpublished sources are known as secondary data. These data are those which have
already been passed through the statistical process.
It constitutes the chief material on the basis of which statistical work is carried out in
many investigations.
MERITS
1. Secondary data are much quicker to obtain than the primary data.
2. It may be available on some subjects where it would be impossible to
collect primary data.
3. It is highly convenient to use information which someone else has
compiled.

functioning, service, mangement.
RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS
Among 29 student, 15 had some suggestion and feedback but 14
student felt that every thing is fine or their feedback won’t bring any
change.
Common suggestion from the student was, provide the books which
are related to syllabus, content oriented, cover all points.
The number of copy of books available is less as compared to number
of student.
Student don’t get access for e-library.
Library must be open till 5.30 so that student get ample time to
collect and deposit the books.
Student felt that library is located very far from MBA department.
They need I-card for library
More books should be made available and number of books issued
should be increased.
CHAPTER 4
CONCLUSION
After conducting this small yet very effective survey to know the
studying habit, satisfaction and behaviour of student in SITRC, Nasik. From
