BSNL -CONNECTING INDIA

 MISSION: To become the largest telecom service provider in Asia & to contribute to the
growth of the country’s economy.

 STRATEGY:

(1) Provide mobile telephone services of high quality & become no. 1 GSM operator in its area
of operation.

(2) National plan target of 500 million subscriber base for the country by Dec 2010.

(3) Providing telephonic connection in villages as per government proposition.

 OPERATIONAL PLANS:

(1)Rs 111 scheme: BSNL was first one to offer unlimited talking offer from BSNL landline to
any BSNL number(mobile or landline) with monthly payment of just Rs. 111.

(2)Rent free roaming.: subscriber need not to pay the roaming rent when they move anywhere
in the country.

(3)One India plan: all the STD charges has been reduced and calling anywhere in India is
same.

(4)Launching New STD/ISD calling cards with brand name CALL NOW.

(5)Dataone broadband services launched in Jan 2005, which shall be extended to 198 cities
shortly. Offers 256 kbps speed @ 250 rupee per month. One of the most reasonable internet
service provider.
(6)Extensive use of Optical fiber System in the local, Junction and long distance network so
as to make available sufficient bandwidth for the spread of Internet and Information
technology.

(7)Introduction of latest telecom services like National directory enquiry, computerization.
