• Sympathy with a person who has

experienced pain, grief, or
misfortune: paid a visit of condolence to
the grieving family.
•What is condolence letter?
A condolence letter is a piece of correspondence
sent to someone to express condolences for a
death.

Condolence letters are classically sent to the lead

mourner, although they can also be sent to
the extended family and friends of the deceased.

A condolence letter differs from a condolence card

in length, with condolence letters being more
detailed and personalized .
• Why we write condolence letter?
A sympathy or condolence note can
be a great source of comfort to
someone who is grieving the loss of a
loved one. It’s a simple way of letting
that person know that they are in your
thoughts as they go through the
difficult process of grief and mourning.
