KOLLABORATION TO MAKE HISTORY WITH FIRST EVER SHOW IN BOSTON

Talent show seeks to empower Asian American community through entertainment

BOSTON, MA (Oct 2010) - For the first time in history, Kollaboration will take place
in Boston April 2011, marking Boston as the 12th city ever to catch fire with the
Kollaboration movement. As a celebration of Asian and Pacific Islander (API) talent,
Kollaboration Boston will be a milestone for the API community given its strong
demographic presence here in the Boston metropolitan area.

Eric Nam, executive director of Kollaboration Boston, said, “Kollaboration has a

unique mission of Empowerment through Entertainment. It’s guaranteed to be a
breakthrough in every sense, showcasing Asian American talent while unifying the
community like no other show in Boston has done before”.

The Kollaboration Boston talent show will be held April 16, 2011 at John Hancock Hall,
located at 180 Berkeley Street Boston, MA 02116. A core team of 20 passionate young
professionals and students from Boston College, Tufts, Northeastern BU, Wellesley,
and beyond have launched into the planning phases of the show and have begun its
search for performers, judges, and volunteers.

ABOUT KOLLABORATION
Kollaboration is an annual non-profit talent show competition seeking to bring mainstream
attention to Asian and Pacific Islander (API) artistic talent, founded in 2000 in Los Angeles by
Paul "PK" Kim. Kollaboration entertains and engages the local community through a celebration
of API talent, thereby expanding representation of API in the mainstream media as well as
raising awareness of API issues in the public eye. Since its inception, what began as a modest
talent show has snowballed into a national movement. Catching fire from city to city across
the United States and in Canada, Kollaboration is active in LA, Chicago, Seattle, Atlanta, DC,
NY, Tulsa, Houston, Columbia, San Francisco, and Toronto and is finally coming to Boston in
2011. Every year, Kollaboration continues to rally together students, businesses, community
leaders, celebrities, and performers across the API community together for the common cause
of “Empowerment Through Entertainment”.
