 Thar Coal Power Project of Hasan Associates 1000 MW
 Sonda-Jherruk Coal Power Project of CMC of China 250 MW
 Lakhra Coal Power Project of Fateh Group 200 MW
 Sonda-Jherruk Coal Power Project of Dadabhoy 200 MW
 Sindh Carbon Energy Limited 150 MW

 UAE and Korean group will setup Mine-mouth Thermal Power Plant of
1000 MW by using Thar coal reserves.

 Foreign Banks Consortium comprising BNP Paribas, HSBC Bank plc, The
Export 'Import Bank of China signed a Sinosure Buyer Credit Facility

capacity near Zahidan may be made available for exporting power to
Pakistan. The two sides have agreed that the transmission line for 100MW
will be completed by the end of 2009.
 They took note of slow pace of progress on projects for import of 100 MW
of power for the Gwadar port and feasibility study for 1,000MW
transmission line between Zahidan and Quetta

 PAK CHINA join hydroelectric power projects the corporation would

seek funds for include Munda Dam, Kohala Dam and the Neelum-Jehlum
Hydropower Project.

 The two new nuclear power projects at Chashma would cost Rs 129.37
billion that would generate 640 megawatts of power, the sources said. The
government has allocated Rs 100 million for the projects in the Public
Sector Development Programmed (PSDP) for the 2008-09 fiscal year, and
expects to get Rs 80.36 billion for the projects from international donor
institutions and other countries. The projects are part of the government’s
Vision 2030 plan, which includes generating 8,000 megawatts of power
from nuclear plants.

 Twelve power companies came up with offers to add 3,839MW of power

generation capacity on fast-track basis before September 2009 against the
government’s demand of 1,500MW.

 13 projects to provide 2456 megawatts power by 2010, The projects for

which PPIB has signed IAs include 225 MW Orient Power, 225 MW
Sapphire Power, 225 MW Saif Power, 165 MW Attock General, 202 MW
Fauji Mari, 200 MW Nishat Chunian, 200 MW Nishat Power, 225 MW
Atlas Power, 134 MW Star Power and 225 MW Halmore Power.
Moreover, IAs of 227 MW Engro Power and 179 MW Gulf Power are
ready for signatures.

 Many other projects are under-processing and under-approval, total

amount of coal is185 billion tunes worth of USD 25 trillion can cater the
electricity requirements of the country for next 100 years but also save
