DRAMA 2010-2011

This week our drama presentations started. We were very nervous because this was the first
time that we would do our presentations in drama lesson, although we were accustomed to that in
method class. We adopted our reading presentation to drama by doing some changes on it. Some of
our friends started to do their drama activity in the classroom. Unfortunately they are the first ones
and they had some difficulty in making smooth transition from the text to drama activity or giving
instruction. It was quite normal because they were the first. We learned better as everybody did their
own activity. The most difficult aspect of it was making smooth transition. It is really hard to do. We
always have the right aim in every movement in the classroom. We have always meaning in our
statements. Moreover, not being able to give clear instruction was another difficulty in this week.
Sometimes what we would do in the activity was not clear and we had to ask for help. Maybe it
arouse because drama cards were not clear enough. But our teacher helped us correct our mistakes
and explained how to be effective teacher by pointing to the specific error in our friends’
presentations. Furthermore his making our friends do some incorrect part of presentation again and
again was useful, because both the presenter and we saw the mistakes clearly and understand how
to overcome it. I think one of the best advantageous of doing drama presentation is performing the
thing, which we learned as theoretically before in the lesson, in front of the class. We will be more
confident and experienced by doing such kind of presentations before being a real teacher.
