Drama, Wednesday ( 13.20-13.00)

1. How drama is used in learning ( For Math of Grade 1 and 2 students as in the
video?)

In this Video, the teacher gave the students some story “ Number Muncher Café Story Land”
and it might the students more enthusiasm and more active in the class. Drama is really
powerful in getting children to engage with order subjects and in Math particularly and it can
be quite a dry subject, with using drama, we can change the setting but cover the same
ground and make it seem really exciting. In the story “Number Muncher Café Story Land”,
teacher can set the scene and give the children the little pieces of information that they need
to know.

When teaching drama in class, the teacher should think more creatively. In this video, the
teacher also delivers the lessons by using teacher and role to engage with the world of make-
believe the young people really enjoy while teaching drama,. In this video, teacher as a chef
Jeff. The teacher did not know the Math which the children know and did have a slight
element of power which she’s need for class control in that imagine that all of the student in
her kitchen and people visiting domain and they would be have appropriately. So they were
doing math problem solving. Its mean that they were working in math you know with
number but what they felt they helping a human being out who was having a real problem
and they had knowledge and expertise to sole it.

2. Teacher in role? ( explain more about this).

Teacher in role has an important influence in teaching drama. Teacher enroll is also one
of the key strategies because it shifts the way that a teacher is relating to the children.  In
the teaching role play, it is incredibly flexible because as a teacher we can be anybody or
we can be somebody who owns the character in the story that we played. As a teacher,
we can take on a lot of power in that role if you need to do a lot of class control and we
can have a very low status role in which case students take on that power. Teacher’s role
is when the teacher takes on a part in the drama takes on a role it can be sustained role
which lasts through the whole drama or sometimes you might just take on the role for
part of the drama. Being within the role allows the teacher to maintain the drama going
by way of questioning, challenging, organizing thoughts, involving students and handling
difficulties. In the role, the teacher can shield the drama from failure, encourage greater
language use, point out consequences, summarize ideas and have interaction the students
inside the dramatic action.
Teacher in role is also an invaluable method for shaping the dramatic system and
developing student’s learning. Simply, the teacher or the facilitator assumes a function in
relation to the pupils. This may be as a leader, an equal or low status position. The
teacher may ask questions of the students, perhaps putting them into role as members of a
specific group and encouraging them to hot-seat her in return.

3. The Effect of Drama for Learning?

Drama in learning can be an important strategies to give a lessons for students. Some of
the technique that is used in Great Hokum School, D4 LC. D4 LC is a drama for learning
and creativity, so that is using drama in order to develop children’s learning and to inspire
them to learn an in order to enable them to have their own ideas and to be creative. D4
LC technique or method is a wonderful thing which is giving teachers who have no
drama background. With using this technique or method it can make our students more
active in the class and also can help us for solve the problem, drama also allows learners
gain the confidence and self assurance and vanity needed. Drama actually a natural way
of children learning or creating imagined experiences within which us learn is something
that children do suite naturally before they ever start school so it would seem an
intelligent thing to do to say what are children doing before they arrive, children are most
engaged and motivated and as soon as you start teaching children in drama, we can see
the face light up and we can see their enjoyment they love it.
