Based

on the information presented in the Lesson 14 video, "The War on Terror,"

describe the new US defense policy announced in September 2002. In addition to
describing this new policy, explain the factors that supported the shift in US defense
policy.

The new US defense policy that was announced in 2002 expressed that the US would take all
necessary measures to combat terrorist in the Middle East and if someone didn’t agree with that,
then they too were an enemy of the US. The US implemented the idea of preventive war by
eliminating the existing regimes. The factor that contributed to this most was the attacks of 9/11.
After that, America felt it necessary to respond to terrorism in the most active way possible.
