Aneesa Rahman

Marie Curie School was established in 1994 and the school was formed on the belief
that it will be a creative learning center where academics will be dealt with in a
creative manner. With a view to enhancing creativity this year the school arranged
a very beautiful and enlightening science fair which was held at Marie Curie School,
in their main building at dhanmondi, road number 4. The main theme of the science
fair this year was Climate Change and Biodiversity. Children from all the classes
actively participated in the science fair.

The Chief guest at the event was Dr. Atiq Rahman, Executive Director, Bangladesh
Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS). And Ms. Syeda Rizwana, Chief Executive BELA
also attended as the special guest. The chair person of the school Prof. Dr. M.
Shamsher Ali, President, Bangla Academy of Sciences also graced the occasion. The
event started off with an environmental play “Save the Lofty Trees” and a video
show on Enironment. In all there were 35 projects displayed by students, each more
outstanding than the other.

On this occasion when asked about the theme of the event Prof. Dr. M. Shamsher Ali
said that children are like clay we can mold them now into environmentally
conscious beings but if the clay are not molded in time then they will become hard
and we would not be able to instill in them the values of being an environmentally
conscious being. Therefore, the principal believes that this is their small way of
contributing to the betterment of the environment.
