Principal’s Message

Dear Parents,
“Excellence is not a skill; it is an attitude.”

Swami Vivekananda believed that “education is the manifestation of

perfection already in man”. To understand how personality develops
comprehensively through education, we need to comprehend
education as a discovery of the inner-self. Though we incessantly
relish the multiplicity and diversity of experiences, non-duality
remains the inseparable truth.

The Mandala symbol represents the universe. With a basic form of a

circle inside a square which is inside a still larger circle, it depicts the
field within which one’s personality can be cultivated and guided
towards perfect happiness.

Affirmed with right impetus, and self-realization,Delhi Public School

DO OCTOBER, DO HASTIYAAN
Delhi Public School Sushant Lok celebrated Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti on 30th September
2022 to give tribute to the ‘Father of the Nation’ whose life and principles are an inspiration to
millions across the world.
On this occasion, the tiny tots of the Pre-Primary Wing were familiarized with the invaluable
contribution to India’s freedom struggle through the slogans given by these eminent
personalities ‘Do or Die’ and the voice behind ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’. They were acquainted
with symbols associated with him like his spectacles, charkha, walking stick, dhoti etc. The
tiny tots were encouraged to imbibe one of his values- cleanliness, as Gandhiji believed
cleanliness is next to Godliness. 'Show and Tell' activity was also conducted thereafter in
which students took turns to speak on the teachings of any of the leaders. Keeping one of the
quotes by Gandhiji in mind -'Be the change that you wish to see in the world', students vowed
to live in peace and harmony.
Diwali Celebrations
Delhi Public School, Sushant
Lok enlivened Pre-Primary
children’s heart with warmth
and delight.
The weeklong celebrations

invigorating activities for the
students. They learnt about
their cultural heritage and
enjoyed the activities like
Diwali poojan, ‘tear and paste’
on diya cut out, earthen diya
painting and decoration,
lantern and card making,
nariyal laddu making, candle
decoration, Ramayana
enactment and Pledge Tour.
Children decorated candles
using glitters, packed them
and displayed them in the
Diwali Craft Mela. The sale of
the mela was proceeded in
the charity.
The efforts of the children
were greatly applauded, and
they were urged to celebrate a
clean, green and safe Diwali.
Parachute Play NURSERY
Parachute play is just one of many activities that fill
the days of our tiny tots at Delhi Public School
Sushant Lok with fun and learning. It is something
we all participate in – communicating, moving and
being together.
Parachute play only works when everyone
participates and no one wins but everyone has fun.
This is why our students of Nursery just adore it as
they have a gala time lifting it up high, pulling it
down, crawling underneath it, and bouncing the ball
on top of it. It develops social skills such as sharing
and turn-taking. It also strengthens the muscles of
the arms and gives a sensory experience as colours
and movement are involved.
It further reinforces social cues such as listening to
instructions and responding to them.

MOVIE TIME
There are many different forms of entertainment
enjoyed by students of all ages around the world.
While some may assume that spending time
watching movies is not a great way for students,
there are actually many reasons why movies are
great for students. They can benefit in many ways
from watching movies.
Children of Class Prep were given a real-life
situation of going to a movie theatre on 10th
October 2022 in the safe space of their
classrooms. In a pretend play, a ticket counter
was arranged for the students where they
enthusiastically stood in a queue to buy their
tickets & popcorn. They enjoyed watching
‘Ice-Age’ with their peers and got a chance to
explore self-empowerment, allowing them to
make choices, act out of their feelings, and find a
new connection to themselves.
Traffic Park
Traffic rules are very important for our safety on
the roads. Educating children regarding
Road-Safety plays an important role in making
them responsible citizens. To make our tiny tots
aware of road safety rules, the 'What says the
Traffic Light’ activity was organised for the
students of Pre Nursery on 12th October 2022.
A pretend 'Traffic park' was set up in the
classroom for the students which highlighted the
traffic rules, signs, and signals. The students
also did a role play and enacted as pedestrians,
traffic police, and motor drivers. They also
crafted Traffic lights as a takeaway for the day.
Overall it was a great learning experience for
everyone.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan
The endeavours for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan have
been instrumental in bringing about behavioural
change towards cleanliness- a concept that has
evolved into a wider phenomenon encompassing
sustainable development and environment
conservation.
With the aim to create awareness and comprehensive
knowledge about waste management, class Prep of
Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok aimed at generating
awareness about ‘Swachh Bhatrat’ drive in school
premises on 14th October 2022.
The little messengers of class Prep extended their
hand to clean various areas in school and actively got
involved in cleaning the premises. The management
of the school supported the group by providing
necessary tools for cleaning like brooms and garbage
bags. The tiny tots displayed their love and care for
the environment by making posters and requesting
their teachers to write the slogans on the poster. They
took a walk in the school premises spreading the
message to contribute to having a clean and green
planet.

subject experts on a one-to-one basis. They also extended support to the school by providing
detailed demonstrations of their resources.
It was a wonderful opportunity for the faculty members to upgrade themselves with the
changing methodologies and pedagogies. The Meet gave a fair chance to all leading
