What are ecosystems
• An ecosystem is a
community of living
and non-living things
that interact in the
same place.An
ecosystem includes
plants,animals,microo
rganisms,non-living
things and physical
aspects.
Specific relationships
Specific relationships
are the different ways
members of the same
species relate each
others.
Interspecific relationships
• Interespecific
relationships are
about how a group
relates two members
of other species.
The food chain
• The food chain is an
example of how
organisms that live in
an ecosystem interact
with each other.
AQUATIC ECOSYSTEMS
RIVERS
• Rivers is fresh water
that flow from a
source of water into
the ocean
Lakes
• Lakes are bodies of
freshwater
surrounded by land
and not connected to
the sea.
Seas and Oceans
• Seas and Oceans
cover most of the
Earth`s surface.
• Seaswater is salty.
• Water is always
moving and its
temperature varies.
Forests
• Forests have a great
density of trees.Two
main factors cause
this density:rainfall
and temperature.
Grassland
• In grassland
ecosystems , the
plants are
grasses.Grassland
ecosystems grow
where there isn`t
enough water to
support a forest.
Deserts
• Deserts cover 20% of
the Earth`s
surface.Deserts are
very hot and dry. In a
desert , it rains very
little there is more
evaporation than
rainfall.
Tundra
• Tundra ecosystems
are very cold areas
covered with ice . The
ground is frozen most
of the year .
Ecology
• Ecology is the study
of ecosystems.
Ecologists study living
and non-living
organisms. They
study the natural
relationships between
the air , land, water,
animals and plants.
Environment
• Humas also chage the
environmet to adapt it
to their needs .Some of
these can be harmful.
Smoke from coal and
petrol,fertilizers and the
waste we throw away
pollute and destroy the
environment.
