How to configure Pidgin Chat email client

1) Download the Pidgin 2.4.2 version and run the .exe

You will get the following screen.

 2) As shown in the figure the “License Agreement” screen will come up.
Except the License and click on “next”

3) Simply click on “next” and go ahead .

 4) In this screen select the HDD path that where you want to store the configuration file & clcik “next”

Here I have selected the default.

 As shown in figure the below progress window will come up.

Once it complete click on “next”

 5) Once all the configuration file installed , click on check box of “Run Pidgin 2.4.2”

and then click on “finish”

6) As show in figure , the new window will come up.
Now we need to configure the chat client and need to add email ids in Buddies.

 7) Click on Accounts ---> Manage , the following new window will come up.

In this click on “Add”

8) As shown in the in tab call “Basic” fill all the options like :--
Protocol :--- XMPP
User name :-- user id
Domain :--- server IP
Password :--- xxxxxxx tick on “Remember password”
Local Alias :-- jayesh

 9) As shown in fig 1.10 Click on “Advance”

Here no change for any option.

Then click on “Save”

10) AS shown in fig 1.11 I have lots of id which are already added.

 11) Let invite and add one id in our buddy list

Click on Buddies ----> Add buddy , the following new window will come up.

Give Buddy's name :--- userid@<your ip address>

Alias :-- userid
Add buddy to group :-- select the id in which you want to add the id.

12) As show in figure “1.13” user “nilesh” is added but his authorization / Subsciption is pending.

When user “nilesh” except the invitation the red symbol will go out and it will become green

13) Once the user “nilesh” accept the invitation his id will look with Green round symbol.

Now you can chat with user “nilesh” . Likewise add other ids which you require and enjoy.
