Capital of the department of Tolima located to 1285 meters above sea level with an
average temperature of 21 º C. its municipal area covers 1498 km ² which are
distributed in a mountainous area that stretches along the central mountain range and a
large flat area known as the plateau of Ibague. Anzoategui limited to the north and
Alvarado, on the east Stones and Coello, south to San Luis and Rovira, west to
Cajamarca and Quindío and Risaralda.

The municipal area is watered by rivers Alvarado, Cocora, Coello, Toche, Tochecito,
and other smaller streams.

Ibague tends from the snowy peaks of the central mountain range to the vicinity of the
