1. M. Tech and MS (Res) Programmes (MCS and CSY programmes)

Shortlisting Criteria:

Direct Admission (Full-time with Assistantship only)

GATE score in CS/IT >= 825 *AND* >= 75% or 8.5 GPA
(Offers will be made after Dean's approval and strictly according to a merit list
based on availability of assistantship).

Interview Call

Full-Time (with Assistantship):

GENERAL Category
GATE in CS/IT >= 750 *AND* >= 60% or >=6.75 in BE/BTech/MCA/MSc
OBC(NCL) Category
GATE in CS/IT >= 675 *AND* >= 60% or >=6.75 in BE/BTech/MCA/MSc
SC/ST/PH Categories
GATE in CS/IT >= 500 *AND* >= 55% or >=6.25 in BE/BTech/MCA/MSc

Part-Time

a. Must be employed and resident with 50km of IIT


b. AND have worked for at least 1 year in CS-related area and currently employed
c. AND satisfy the following Academic Criteria)

GENERAL Category
>= 73.5% or >= 8.3 in BE/BTech/MCA/MSc
OBC(NCL) Category
>= 72.5% or >=8.0 in BE/BTech/MCA/MSc
SC/ST/PH Categories
>= 70% or >=7.5 in BE/BTech/MCA/MSc

2. Ph. D. Programme (CSZ programme)

Shortlisting Criteria:
For candidates with M. Tech. degree:

Full Time Part Time

GE 8.3 / 73.5 8.75 / 77.5


OBC 8.0 / 72.5 8.3 / 73.5
SC/ST 7.5 / 70.0 8.0 / 72.5

Applicants with B.Tech/BE/MCA/MSc degree who have applied for Ph.D. programme
in Computer Science & Engineering will automatically be considered for admission to
MS (Res)/M.Tech. only as per the respective shortlisting criteria.

CSIR/UGC fellows and PH candidates get a waiver of 2% (0.4 grade points).


Additionally, candidates above but within 2% (0.4 points) the cut-offs in each
category must have first division (60%, 6.75) in their bachelor's degree(s).
