The CROSS of a Disciple The CROSS of a Disciple
• Read Luke 9:23 and Matt 11:29
• Lord Jesus Christ gave us TWO great symbols of commandment: – “If any man would come after ME, let him deny himself, take up his CROSS daily and follow ME”. – “Take MY YOKE upon you, and learn of ME; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls”. * Both made of Wood. Two Great Symbols of Commandment:
• The CROSS: The YOKE:
– Vertical - Horizontal – Picture of Submission - Picture of Service – Submits to Lord - Surrenders to Lord – For Salvation - For Service
When you put BOTH TOGETHER you have a picture
of REAL DISCIPLESHIP. The Cross: • Teaches Truth of the Gospel:
– Saved by hearing/believing of the Gospel
(1Cor 15:1-4) – Live life as it becomes the Gospel (Phil 1:27) – Ultimate Judgment is by the Gospel (Rom 2:16) The Cross: • Our Problem and God’s Solution: – God is love, kind, good then He should forgive sins – But know God is Just also. Two Important Things: 1. God is Love 2. God is Just - Love demands forgiveness - Justice demands punishment. - What should God do? - By Giving the Son He kept love - By Nailing the Son He kept the justice. Compare the Two: The Cross: The Yoke: - Khilalela Christ - Judlela Christ - Mazya Aaivaji - Mazya Barobar - Mi Tya barobar? - Mi Tya sobat? - Daily Death Experience - Very life - To sin, Satan, flesh, world?- before the world? The Yoke: • Read Deut 22:9-11: • PROHIBITED: – MIXED TEACHING - Misrit Sidhant – MIXED TOILING- Misrit Seva – MIXED TESTIMONY - Misrit Saksh
