What: Spring Safety Saturday

WHO: ONSLOW COUNTY FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION

WHERE: LOWES (1255 Western Boulevard, Jacksonville, NC)

When: May 14, 2011 from 10am – 2pm

Why: To raise awareness about safety concerns for citizens in there homes and
community.

The Onslow County Firefighters Association has partnered with American

Red Cross, Jones Onslow EMC, Jacksonville Police Department, White Oak –
New River Keepers Alliance and other agencies to raise awareness about safety
issues in the home and community. The participating departments will be
showcasing safety venues and assisting agencies with spreading the word about
safety!

A few of the activities to be held the day of the event are listed below.

 Bloodmobile blood drive (donors will be automatically registered for prizes)

 Car seat check (check to make sure your child’s seat is installed correctly)
 Drunk driving course (limited to teenagers to showcase the problems with
drinking and driving)
 Operation Medicine Drop (bring unwanted medications here and dispose of
them properly/ For human and animals)
