1000 Asia Pacific Hairdressers Gather in Bali for

Matrix World Tour Asia Pacific 2011


Bali, May 15-18, 2011-Matrix welcoming 1000 hairdressers from Asia Pacific countries in Matrix World
Tour Asia Pacific (WTAP), the international hairdressing seminar and workshop. The new trend in
hairdressing world and salon business development are becoming the main topics of this year seminar
in the current Matrix WTAP. “We invite international hairdressers, trainers and motivators to be the
spokespersons in this event. They are coming not only to share their experiences but also to share their
knowledge, creative skills and business tricks intensively through hairshows and hairdressing seminars.
This is in lining with the direction of our “Reach All, Teach All” education that aims to cater all
hairdressers from all over the place”, says Hugo Boisvert, General Manager Asia-Pacific Zone for Matrix.

Matrix WTAP is becoming the answer of the wonderful growth of Matrix in Asia Pacific countries. This
event is aimed to be the event of celebration for all hairdressers especially Matrix salon community.
Having succeeded to cater many salons, the brand is now facing another challenge to give the best
education to strengthen its existence that now has reached more than 60 countries and 250.000 salons
all over the world. “Education is becoming one of the key competences in Matrix. The best national level
and even international level of education are those programs we are trying to accommodate to
empower the expertise of our hairdressers. This World Tour Asia Pacific is the proof. We know that our
hairdressers are very keen on having international education and we decided to bring Matrix World Tour
Asia Pacific to become the inspirations and the learning momentum for all Asia Pacific hairdressers”,
says Hugo.

The first Matrix World Tour Asia was taken place in Phillipines in 2007 and only being participated by
Asian countries. Following the success of the first World Tour Asia, this international education event is
being held again in Thailand and China, still with Asian countries as participants, and it is then becoming
the routine event every two years. This year, not only Asian countries participating in the event but
some pacific countries such as Australia and New Zealand will join other Asian countries such as China,
Hongkong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Phillipines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand to the 4 th Matrix
World Tour Asia Pacific 2011. As a host, Indonesia was chosen to welcome all Asia Pacific hairdressers in
the event held in Bali that is known as the “Paradise on Earth”. “We see that the growth of Matrix is very
good in Indonesia. We believe that Indonesian hairdressers are all great and we are very confident to
make Indonesian hairdresser successful. We are sure that they can get many inspirations from this such
a wonderful event”, says Hugo.

Inspiring Hairshows and Seminar

Understanding the current needs of Asian hairdressers, Matrix has developed some interesting program
that will be delivered during the WTAP 2011. “The hairdressing industry in all Asia is almost the same.
We all have consumers that used to do business in traditional and conservatives market, which had
grown to be more moderate and have vigilant awareness towards fashion and beauty. That is why we
create a program that will not only inspire but also excite the hairdresser to be more and more
creative”, said Hugo. Three top hairstylists, whose skills have been acknowledged by the international
hairdressing industry, are invited to share their knowledge in this WTAP 2011. Errol Douglas, Matrix
Artistic Designer from UK, Derrick Rutherford, Matrix Artistic Designer from Canada and Karrie Fonte,
Official spokes person for Matrix Spread the Love program from US will be the guest speaker on the
WTAP 2011 workshops and seminars with more than 20 models on stage to be the faces of their hair
creations. To strengthen the Asian hairdressers’ skill in growing their salon business, Matrix also invited
Giuseppe (Joe) Muro, L’Oreal Canada National Business Development Manager as well as salon owner,
to share his experience in expanding and surviving the salon business industry.

“The WTAP 2011 participants will be welcome by a great Hair Trend Show, showcasing Errol Douglas,
Derrick Rutherford and Karrie Fonte’s hair creation. We believe the show will inspire the hairdressers
and raised their spirit to join the classroom sessions on the next day,” said Yunus Koswara, General
Manager of Matrix Indonesia.

The workshops and seminars are specially designed by Matrix not only to educate but also to maximize
the creative spirit within each one of the hairdressers participating in this event. The 2 days program
offers specific classroom sessions, like cut & color class, color mastery class, as well as styling class. “The
variety of classrooms available in the WTAP 2011 is one of Matrix way to help the hairdressers in making
their imaginations come true. We hope hairdressers could apply the rich education and applicable
technique offered in the program to their salon as well as their day to day creative activity,” said
Marlene Arce, Assistant Vice President of Global Education.
