HUNTERSVILLE, NC: On Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at approximately 8:30 pm, officers of the Huntersville Police Department responded to 502 Gilead Road, the Fast Track Convenience Store, to investigate an armed robbery. Officers interviewed the victim who advised she was cleaning the store when she was approached from behind and had a handgun pressed into her back. The victim was forced to turn over the contents of the cash drawer and had her purse stolen. The suspect left the store with cash from the drawer, the clerks purse, and several assorted packs of cigarettes. It is unknown how the suspect left the scene or in what direction he was traveling. No injuries occurred during this incident. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 600 to 602 in height and skinny. The suspect was last seen wearing a khaki colored ball cap, a khaki colored shirt with orange sleeves, black athletic shorts, and black athletic shoes.
