ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

I have been greatly influenced in the preparation of this project report by the text books, IS codes and review of lectures. I have some thanks giving to perform for the people who helped me make it possible .Before mentioning them I would like to take the pleasure in conveying that it would never have been possible without their support and kind guidance. I am very-very grateful to Mr. NEEL CHOUDHARY because of whom I successfully developed a great interest in the subject of steel structures. He is the main source of inspiration throughout the training .I would like to thank the following organizations for permitting as trainee engineer:
1. 2. 3. 4. RAJASTHAN RAJYAVIDHUT UTPADAN NIGAM LIMITED BGR ENERGY SYSTEMS PVT.LTD. TATA CONSULTING ENGINEERS GOVT.ENGG.COLLEGE JHALAWAR (RAJ.)

I have also learnt much from Mr. Galen Joseph, Mr. Jitendra Singh of BGR. With this I also wish to thank Mr. Muthukumar Kennan of TCE for visiting fabrication yard of Ka .T.P.P.

I also wish to thank Mr. P. C. vijayvargiya, Deputy Chief Engineer (RRVUNL),

without his kind support nothing could be happened. I would like to thank Mr. Nawab Singh of BGR for explaining the drawings of various concrete structures at Ka .T.P.P. I acknowledge the excellent support and coordination provided by all the engineers, each and everybody at Ka .T .P. P. Jhalawar from whom I got help in fulfilling my training successfully.

PREFACE
The field of civil engineering today has become so vast that it is difficult to know its boundaries. In the light of practical aspect of engineering we have to complete an industrial training of 30days. The object of this training in degree course is to co-relate the theory with the practical aspect and to make students familiar with practical difficulties, which arises during working on the site so that they can face challenges bodily while actually working in the site.

THE KALISINDH THERMAL POWER PROJECT is the main agency

responsible in the completion of this project report. The project report is made keeping in view the Turbine Generator building of Ka .T.P.P. and fabrication and erection of steel structures with also the other important structures. The project report contains a very useful deep study of steel structures and fabrication and erection of steel elements. Steel structures are very necessary for each & every power plant. In this project report we deal with the various operations that are carried out for steel structures, specially fabrication & erection. Further, project report contains many useful comprehensive things like: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. A comprehensive coverage of material properties. Welding of steel &cutting detailing. Equipment used in erection. A range of various connections and their detailing. A large number of tables, figures, and extensive references. A short detailing of other major structures in the Ka.T.P.P.

Apart from this; the power plant has other very important structures like
BOILERS, CHIMNEYS, ROW-WATER RESERVOIRS, T.G. BUILDINGS, MARSHELL YARD,COOLING TOWERS, etc. that must be given attention. Hence we also cover the short contents of these important structures. While making this report every case has been taken to avoid any mistake. yet it is difficult to attain perfection, as it is my first experience to write such a report. Ghanshyam gupta
